KOMMERSANT Publishing House has selected the disputes that, according to the editors, deserve the most attention in 2022.

The disputes were selected based on a combination of the following criteria: (1) the value of the dispute; (2) the importance for business; (3) the precedent nature of decisions; (4) the importance of the client in the industry / business; (5) an analysis of the media attention to the case, mainly — the publication KOMMERSANT.

This list includes the following disputes from MZS practice (see "Disputes of the Year" for details):

Client: A1 Capital Limited.
Financial estimate: ₽1.3 billion.
Project leader: partner Anton Aleksandrov.
Corporate dispute in the Moscow Arbitrazh Court over recovery by A1 Capital Limited of debt in the form of account balances with Credit Suisse AG, a Swiss bank.

Client: minority shareholder of PJSC KOKS.
Financial estimate: ₽10 billion.
Project leader: partner Dmitry Lovyrev.
A number of lawsuits in Russia, such as the recovery of ₽8.4 billion in damages caused by the shareholder's repurchase of quasi-treasury stock, the recovery of ₽2 billion in damages, and challenges to the corporate decisions of PJSC KOKS and LLC STEEL, among others.

Client: VEB.RF.
Financial estimate: more than $4 billion.

Investment dispute with Ukraine at the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce to recover compensation for the illegal expropriation of VEB.RF's key asset – the leading Ukrainian bank PJSC PROMINVESTBANK.
